Review of Tecrom Designs, Spike. The second in the series of three Witwicky family members looks just as great as the first, Daniel. Great attention to detail and fantastic design of these memorable characters from Transformers the Movie. These statues are printed by Shapeways in sandstone so they are very fragile. Note to all that all human models printed in Full Color Sandstone are in scale and all human models printed as mini-figures are in scale with one another. Tecrom Designs were submitted to Hasbro/Shapeways’ joint venture called Superfanart. In this program Hasbro has made their various brands available to artist to re-interpret them in 3D models. The brands include: Transformers, G.I. Joe, Dungeons & Dragons, My Little Pony, Dragonvale, Monopoly and Scrabble. Superfanart will be reviewing all artists designs, and those that are approved, will be granted an “Official Hasbro License.” Selected designs will be featured on Shapeways.com as “SUPERFANART.” These models will be sanctioned by Hasbro and will be made available for purchase legally at both Shapeways and the www.superfanart.com website.

Also, I have Spike’s head, as an add-on kit that can go with the Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Class Jazz figure. With this fully colored head, you can make Spike into a 4 inch G.I. Joe Scale figure in an Exosuit!! Can you say Transformers/G.I. Joe Crossover!! Please see Spike exosuit head add-on kit here: http://www.shapeways.com/model/1790158/spike-homage-exosuit-head-for-tf-foc-jazz.html?li=shop-results&materialId=100
Toy Review: Transformers Generations Jetfire by Hasbro. Its always exciting to see a new mold of Jetfire. Jetfire has always been one of my very favorite Autobots since G1. At first glance I see an awesome IDW artist’s artwork on the very cool Generations line box. I love boxes and feel that every figure should come in one so they can be taken out and placed back in whenever you want. The figure looks great. He is a great size and has really nice simple detail. The head has a removable battle mask that reveals his really cool face sculpt with great head rotation. The arms have great tight ratchet joints at the shoulder and bend at the elbow. The size of this figure should have allowed for added articulation for better posing, too bad. No waist movement. Legs also have a tight ratchet joint with some nice movement. The lack of articulation doesn’t get in the way of my enjoyment of this figure. I don’t like the amount of hollow parts in the arms, legs and the red chrome eyesore paint on the accessories. Red chrome can be remedied, check out the video below this post to find out how. The transformation on the figure is very easy and nicely engineered. The airplane mode looks glorious and yes, it has landing gear. Cockpit door opens up and I wish I had a little guy to put in there. I love this figure. I’m very pleased with the work that was put into this guy. Thank you, Hasbro!
Toy Review of Hasbro’s Star Wars Black Series, Boba Fett in Prototype Armor. Let me start by saying, THANK YOU! I love this figure. I cant believe I got one since its exclusive to Walgreens and I have yet to ever see him again since. Full articulation, great accessories and awesome pose ability. This figure is a must have for all Star Wars fans. My only wish was that add the extra head like in the send away version. The Ralph Mcquarrie original design. Again, AWESOME!
Review: Tecrom Designs- Daniel. Great detail on these statues of our favorite humans in the Transformers Universe. Tecrom paid great attention to detail and really shows true homage to these characters. These are statues printed by Shapeways in sandstone so they are very fragile. His design is based on his first appearance in the 1986 Transformers animated movie. And like Spike and Carly, there will be a Daniel mini-figure resized to 1.6 inches soon to be available here: http://www.shapeways.com/model/1949148/daniel-homage-space-boy-1-6inch-transformers-mini.html?li=shop-results&materialId=100 This Daniel mini-figure, as you’d guess, will be in scale with his parents in addition to Deluxe Scale and Masterpiece size Transformers. KFC Toys: Transistor (test shot) Review-
KFC Toys brings another great Transformer character to life. His name is, Transistor (aka, MP Blaster) This figure, graciously provided to me by KFC Toys, is awesome. Now, don’t be shocked by the site of these pictures. My figure is only a test shot or prototype stage figure. He is an MP scaled figure and is a tad bit taller than MP Soundwave. He is a solid design and I would expect no less from KFC Toys, they have been on a roll lately. Nice solid plastic and great amount of detail was put into this design. He has great articulation. His head swivels in all directions, shoulders, biceps, arms, hands, fingers, waist, thighs, knees and down to the feet. He has awesome pose-ability! He will come with two heads, which is a really nice sculpt. First is the one you see which is a G1 toy version and the other being a cartoon accurate version. The transformation is a true pleasure. Great engineering. Its nice and easy. Everything tabs into place, making him look nice and full with no ugly gaps. Same tape design as MP Soundwave. Deck cover ejects and you can push back the inside of the deck to make room for at least 3 cassettes, which KFC Toys also has a large variety of. A button on his back releases the cassettes one at a time. His accessories include 2 guns; very G1 accurate and 2 speaker saucers which can be tabbed to the wrist before the hand is flipped out during transformation. I found that the 2 guns also look very cool tabbed to his back, giving him a cool look from the front. The guns tab nice and tight in his hands. The boom box looks great. I hope they add more controls to the design of the radio to give it a more realistic feel, like I can plug in an earphone or raise the volume. I also would have loved some diecast on the feet to make him a tad bit heavier but he is a very stable figure. Posing him is very easy and fun. I am truly looking forward to the final product and hope to have the honor of giving you a final review on this completed Masterpiece. Great Toy! Thank you, KFC Toys!!!
All of our listeners have heard Joe Daddy and I begging for someone to start producing backgrounds, environments and play-sets. We are very old school and want to pose our toys in front of a cool background. ToyStages.com has stepped in and quenched our thirst for cool backgrounds. They generously sent me a new line specifically for my favorite toys, Transformers. Teletran 1 looks awesome. The stage is made of a thick cardboard with a laminated, hi res image of Teletran 1. I was blown away how great the figures look in the photos. I feel like I’m in the cartoon. They come in three sizes, small, medium and large. They currently have many backdrops for GI Joe, He-Man and TMNT on their website. All very unique but very detailed and accurate. Teletran 1 is the beginning of the Transformers line of Stages being produced as we speak. Very detailed and even comes with its own unique tiles for the floor of the Stage. I’m very impressed with these guys. Finally we have cool backgrounds for our curios of figures that where very lonely until now. I highly recommend you checking these guys out, TOYSTAGES.COM and follow them on facebook for daily updates on new stages being developed. Thank you, ToyStages.com!
